Support to the McDonough(Basel 2)ratio process. Business analysis of many projects around the ratio process :

  • Convergence of the Caisses d'Epargne and Banques Populaires processes

  • Impact analysis of the accounting SURFI project

  • Reengineering of the prudential handling of performance commitments to funds

  • Long-term forecast of the Group's capital requirement

2008-2009: Société Générale - Retail banking in France

Management (business analysis, drafting of requirements, cost-benefit analysis, planning, design of the future processes with BPMN notation, definition of User Acceptance Tests) of a project aiming at automating the prudential (Basel 2) rating of the smaller corporate customers.

Counterpart risk consultancy for a Business Intelligence reengineering project.

2007-2008: Société Générale - Corporate and Investment Banking (SGCIB)/Accounting and financial reporting Department

Management (business analysis, drafting of requirements, coordination, reporting, steering committees preparation) of most of the projects aiming at ensuring due consistency between "counterpart risk reporting" and "accounting reporting":

  • Documentation of the whole consistency checking process

  • Roll-out of ad-hoc software to French and foreign subsidiaries

  • Set-up of monitoring tools

  • Creation of tools aiming at adjusting automatically Basel 2 reportings

  • Changes aiming at taking into account the peculiarities of some  financial instruments (warrants, “linear combinations of products”…)

Nearly all of the communication made around this project was in English.

2006-2007: Société Générale - Corporate and Investment Banking/IT Department

Management (detailed functional design, integration tests-partly automated with SQL queries) of some of the projects upgrading the software used for checking consistency between "counterpart risk" and "accounting" reporting for all financial instruments.

Detailed business retro-design and documentation of this software.

2005-2006: Franfinance - Pole "small businesses finance" (Rueil-Malmaison)

Management (business analysis, drafting of requirements, coordination, reporting, preparation of the steering committees) of several regulatory projects on the corporate credit and leasing business lines:

  • Comprehensive reengeneering of regulatory (BAFI) reporting along the following lines:

    1. Setup of a "contract"-level inventory data structure

    2. Production of accounting inventory entries through SOPRA/Règles du Jeu software

    3. Production of regulatory (BAFI) reports through SOPRA/Evolan software

  • Automation of the calculation of the bad debt/loan depreciation provisions

  • Consistency of prudential (Basel 2) reporting with the "accounting" reporting

  • Roll-out of IAS/IFRS accounting standards to "credit" and "leasing" transactions

  • Roll-out of BAFI 2003 accounting standards

Finance company (consumer credit), subsidiary of 3 Suisses Group, 1100 employees.

1998 - 2002: Organization and Information Systems vice-president

  • Migration of the whole Information System from a VMS/ACMS architecture to a 3-tier architecture.

  • Reengineering of the "IT project" process

  • Business requirements of a project aiming at procuring an off-the-peg Workflow/ Business Process Management software

  • Introduction of a "Business Rules Management System" (BRMS) software to manage loan granting rules (especially “scores”)

  • Reengineering of recurrent reportings with use of “Intranet” technologies

  • Introduction of cost accounting for the analysis of IT expenditures

1996 - 1998: Risk and Organization vice-president

In charge of IT business analysis and Risk management.

  • Full creation and roll-out of an object-oriented design method

  • Comprehensive reengineering of loan granting rules

  • Reengineering of the credit back-office software: business analysis and design.

  • Creation of a call-center with introduction of computer-telephony integration (CTI) functions.

1989-1996: Head of “Database and Scores” department

In charge of credit risk reporting, Business Intelligence information subsystems and statistical analysis of customer behavior (“credit scoring”).

  • Creation of the "Business Intelligence" and "Customer statistical studies" departments; setup of all data structures useful for business intelligence

  • Calculation and implementation of “scores” of loan granting, collections, commercial propensity, etc. by use of socioprofessional, purchase behavior, repayment behavior data…

Consequently, average loan acceptance rates evolved as follows:

  • Rise from 80% to 95% for the main "branded" credit card (“Carte 4 étoiles”) in 1993

  • Rise from 30% to 55% for the main "personal" credit card (“Formule Libravou”) in 1996
